NALA Honors Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman for His Support

of a New Playground

 

February 25, 2008 (Las Vegas, NV) Mayor Oscar Goodman was honored by NALA, the Las Vegas social service agency, during a ceremonial session of the Las Vegas City Council meeting. NALA thanked Mayor Goodman for his support of their child care program and their playground fundraising efforts.

 

Mayor Goodman was presented with a plaque of appreciation by Terri De La Torre, Executive Director and Edgar Patino, Chairperson. Afterwards, the Mayor was presented with a colorful hula hoop.

 

The highlight of the presentation was when 4-year old Jaden Espitia asked Mayor Goodman if he would hula hoop for him. The Mayor graciously agreed much to the enjoyment of the City Council members and those attending the morning session.

 

NALA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that has been serving the Las Vegas community since 1969. NALA offers affordable child care, senior services, HIV prevention, immigration and social services.
